WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY WITH A MISSION TO HELP AND PROTECT ANIMALS

  • About BrokenPaws.org

Our mission is multipurpose. Our first purpose is to provide high quality photographic images of wildlife in their natural environments. We attempt to present to you the physical beauty both of the individual animals and their natural surroundings.

On occasion we find or hear that some animals suffer physically from minor, major life threatening or fatal injuries. These injuries are on occasion due to the changing environmental conditions or the intrusion of mankind which permanently changes or pushes them out of their natural environments, possibly leading to their extinction.

    Brokenpaws.org
recognizes the many organizations dedicated to the protection of the imperiled species and their habitats in North America through active legislation. Other groups take a more direct approach by rescuing, treating, rehabilitating and eventually releasing back into their environment members of a particular animal species. By donating to these organizations, with each and every purchase, we are all helping support the wildlife and natural lands that need to be protected.

Our founding wildlife photographer, Dr. Lee Abbott who agrees and supports our philosophy began his exceptional interest in photography over 60 years ago when he received his Kodak Brownie Camera. He began by taking pictures of everyone and everything. As he grew so did his talent and interests. Over the years his developing creativity focused on domesticated animals and the many different types of wildlife. His talents and techniques continued and have progressively adapted to the new technologies of digital imaging. He has traveled widely to interact and photograph wildlife whose images make up his enormous collections. His special ways of interacting with his subjects as he photographs them have contributed greatly to the beauty and quality of his photography.
